Today I have worked on a photo after an advice I got from Gil https://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=56819

    before

    and after
    [IMG]

    Is this better?

We were planning that day to take photos of birds flying to the south, but probably there was too much wind and we saw no birds :frown: . The ones I used now is from a photo I took a few days later somewhere else.

Certainly adds much needed interest to counteract that bald expanse of cloud. Definite improvement I would say

  4. Roosje,

I do like the second but for some reason my eye is drawn to the first one.

    Hi Roosje,

I was wondering what you wanted to be your focal point of the image? The windmills? I like each image, but I tend to think that there may be too much sky which distracts from the windmills. I am certainly not much of an authority on post-processing by any means, but I am curious if some color can be pulled out of the folliage along the shoreline to the left which might enhance the overall image.

There was not much color in the sky and I discovered the different shades of colors when working with the saturation

When I was taking this photo, I was thinking of the typical dutch landscapes many painters have painted in the past. Vast skies and the feeling that you are standing there observing the wonders of nature where all kind of things are happening

I understand what you were trying to achieve, Roosje. The windmills are a wonderful focal point of interesting and I understand how you wished to capture them along with the vastness of the sky.
