Sometimes it would be best if it kept THEM out.
Just to make sure, I was thinking about fences in general. Not specifically this one.

black and white pictures of fences always take me back to a relatively recent exhibition at the Imperial Museum London about the Holocaust. Lots of black and white fences.

Same feeling here. I have traveled through much of the world, 28 foreign countries. I don’t recall seeing this type of security anywhere else. But I have not been to Iraq.
I have been in Iraq back in 1990. The security was more discreet under Saddam...

10 Downing Street and Houses of Parliament are pretty secure.
They have had a long history of terrorist attacks and have adopted tough protections.
Some are subtle, some not so much.
Curbs to demonstrations have been in place for years.
We do have one of the highest CCTV concentration in the world, including live facial recognition.
Just saying, not judging.
