They do. Also for Search and Rescue.
We have an air Coast Guard base in Opa-Locka airport (KOPF). The flight path goes right over my local beach jetty so every so often I see them, plus Dauphine Helicopters and also cargo DC-3s and similar older planes on their way to the Bahamas or just out to sea.

No. He's near Ocala in North Central Florida. Opa-Locka is a suburb of Miami (South Florida). There's about a five hour drive from one to the other. :smile:
