Was out on the deck on this dreary day looking for some feathered creatures to shoot at the pond, when in a moment of boredom, I pointed my D2X, with the 200-400VR + TC 1.7 mounted, on this Gerberra start. Actual focal length: 650mm! Distance: oh, about 10ft!

I like it. These tele's are great for more than birds and animals.

Thanks guys, and Greg, that f13 was just enough

I took another @f11, and that f-stop didn't get the whole blossom in focus! And, that green you see is my lawn in the distance!

    Hi Steve,

That's a beauty...You've missed your calling. The colors are delightful..

AND I'm glad you're giving Pierre 'equal time' as your avatar... I must get my three into the avatar business soon.

    Thanks for posting the posey..

  9. Very nice Steve. I like the composition myself and the colors are fantastic.

    Way to go!

    Thanks gals,

Having shot 100's of flowers in my "Early Days" of DSLR photography, I still go back and do one now and then when there's nothing else around!
