Using D70 to Trigger an Off Camera Sb-800

Discussion in 'General flash photography, lighting, and technique' started by JustinD, Jul 10, 2008.

  1. I've got a D70 and just recently picked up an SB-800 and am wondering how to go about getting the SB-800 to fire off the camera. I've set the camera to commander mode and the flash to remote mode but that isn't working.

    Any tips greatly appreciated.

  2. It has to be to a specific channel, etc. Check out Ken Rockwell's site, he gives detailed instructions.

  3. Got a new camera Justin???

  4. Not quite yet. The new one should be here tomorrow so for now I'm still using my old, seriously handicapped, D70.

  5. Thanks, Cindy. That article explains how to use an SB-600.

Unfortunately the manuals are pretty unhelpful here.

  6. Ah. Setting it to CH. 3 Group A did the trick.
