Using extension tubes for the first time

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by ccroy, Jul 13, 2008.

  1. After seeing so many excellent macro shots posted by the members, I gathered courage to use the extention tubes, which were bought about two years back but never used. I like the efforts to be made to overcome the difficulties in foucssing with wind spoiling the game. After shooting some flower shots, I really grew in confidence to continue this wonderful section of the photography. I used the Tokina 135/2.8 MF for the reach.

    Here are some efforts

  2. Very nice images. You've made the limited DOF into an advantage in your compositions. Well done.

Nice shots. I especially like #4. What tube length did you use?

  4. Thanks Duncan

  5. Art thanks. I used the longest tube which is 1" in length. As I have used the tubes for the first time, any suggestions for improvement?

  6. Thanks Glenn. Any suggestions for improvement?

  7. On 2? not really. I wouldn't crop it at all and depending on your patience and how you feel about the idea of it, that one oof leaf in front would have been wonderful missing somehow
