Using nature's lighting system.

While sitting in my usual spot in the family room reading, I noticed how nicely the sun coming through the trees lit the background around a particular birch stump. Then along came one of my usual models.
I loved the warm mottled background when I started shooting this series.

Thank...I was turned off using flash for critters years ago, when on someone on a forum posted photos of owls that were flashed. Can't imagine what that did for the poor birds.
