    Guys/Gals,

I read that I can use the SB-600 with my D300 as a wireless flash. The instructions say it is possible with the 600 or 800 - but I can't find the directions to link the 600. Can anyone explain how to do it?

    Thanks,
    Jonny

  2. Don't you have the manual?

The D300 and SB600 manual will explain how this is down. I can't explain it in full here, you basically trigger it with the flash on the d300 and set the sb-600 to remote.

I looked through the manual and didn't see it. I understand the SB needs set to remote - just couldn't work out which button on the SB gave me that option (to choose remote.)

  4. Look on page 52 and 60 of the manual.

You need an SB800 on camera as the MASTER.

The SB600 can then act as a SLAVE (off camera) in the remote function.

    Dave,

I am not sure you are correct about this. Kelby sad you can use the 600 or 800. And while he isn't the "King" of photography - he does know his stuff...

You are correct and I am wrong. You dont need the SB800 to act as a Master...I dont have a D300, but this is how the D200 worked. I just went back and saw that I made that mistake when commenting.

...funny you say that; my last name is KING, by the way!

D300 can act as the master, same as the D200
