USM usage in NC 4

    I'm seeing USM settings mentioned here that I'm surprised at eg.

    ISO 100-200: 50, 5, 4 (intensity, halo, threshold)
    ISO 400: 50, 5, 8
    ISO 800: 50, 5, 12

    I shoot in RAW (D2X) and use sharpening set to "normal". I almost never go over a halo setting of 5 in NC4 ie. the halo setting to more than 1 starts to create a dryness / crispyness that makes the picture look oversharpened.

    I usually use 50, 1, 5 for all ISO's - am I missing something ?

    Hi Monty,

    Yes that does help (and thanks for that link) - I'll check it out now

    btw: I made a typo in my first post and have corrected it:

    it was: halo setting of 50 in NC4 . . .
    (yikes now that would be a problem !)

    now is: halo setting of 5 in NC4 . . .
