Excellent set of images...I really need to visit.

The trail in #11 looks like it involves stepping through some very rocky terrain. Any concern about surprising a rattlesnake! I suppose there isn't much of a risk when the trail is so crowded with people.

I don't know about the trail conditions, but I did read that African bees are in the area. So stay away from water....and be careful!

By the way, for those who aren't necessarily big Las Vegas fans--it is a photographer's paradise. The last two times I visited Las Vegas I didn't bet a dime, but I had a lot of fun shooting a variety of subjects...especially architecture.

So glad I posted these today!! You should go for sure. Give yourself plenty of time to see it. There was more to see than I was expecting. There are some really nice picnic areas. The visitor's center was worth exploring, although we only gave it a few minutes. We will be returning to the park for sure. Thank you for the link to the website. I will check it out. The one hike that was so hot was the fire wave hike and it was only 69 degrees outside. You are hiking on rocks and the sun reflecting off of them was so warm.
Thanks. I fear that it will be to hot to do much when we will be there.....April 14 and 15. Last time we were in the Las Vegas area, we never got near The Strip and casinos. Just not our thing. We stay at Nellis AFB....and visit areas outside the town.

BTW - from Las Vegas Valley of Fire SP is about a 50 mile drive.....
