ViewNX NEF Import Failure

I am having an issue where ViewNX will fail to recognize or import and NEF's on my SD card. In fact, it will import any JPEG but WILL SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTERS ONBOARD CARD READER when trying do fiddle with anything NEF. I must remove and reinstall the card to get it active again.

I can import my NEF's via Lightroom2 without any problems or copy and paste them via a windows menu, but not with ViewNX.

Here is the other criteria -

- VIEWNX used to import my NEF's on the same machine without problems
- Quad Core Pentiums with Vista
- Nikon D60

I didn't even remember that View NX could be used to tansfer images from the card. You might try doing it using Nikon Transfer, which is free.

oh... sorry Mike.... the copy of ViewNX I have has Nikon Transfer as a sub program built into it...

I wasn't aware there is a standalone transfer program... I'll check it out.. thanks..
