Vintage Jetliner

    I wasn't quite sure whether to post this on the film forum or here. Anyway .....

    This is an American Airlines Convair 990 "Coronado" ready for takeoff at Lindbergh Field in San Diego, CA sometime in 1965.

    I had read a long time ago that the 880 was quite a fuel guzzler as well as a hot rod, so the 990 was fitted with "slipper" fuel tanks over the wings.
