Virginia bluebells

They are mostly blue...

These photos are not as sharp as I would have liked, but it was very windy, and I was on a group hike, so had no time to set up a tripod. All photos with D600 and 24-120/4.

Great set! I appreciate seeing the different varieties. You did a very good job considering you didn't have time to set up and carefully "work" the compositions!

Looks like the 24-120 did a nice job...in your hands of course!

Thanks, Karen. The totally white ones are quite rare. And the variegated blossoms have never been seen by the wildflower folk around here. There was just a single plant like that in several acres of them along the South Fork of the Roanoke River.

Thanks, Fons. That is certainly the correct Latin name, but they are commonly called Virginia bluebells in the U.S.
