This weekend I got two boxes of textured paper from Red River Paper. The boxes must have been by the front door for a while. While I was examining the contents for damage (a wrinkle on the outer box -a drop on the end- might have bruised the edges), my wife started screaming for me to "do something!" So I did what comes natural. Got the Macro lens and camera.

It was moving too fast for most ambient light.

so I raised the ISO and put the SB-800 on. Still had to chase it from one end of the box to the other trying to get it in focus.

I couldn't get in close enough for proper -macro- (1:1 ratio) level portraiture. It just wouldn't cooperate.

ID: Tussock Moth caterpillar. Harmless unless you try to grab it or touch it too hard.

Thanks, Chad and William.
The wife wasn't quite so impressed. I think she had something with "raid" or "black flag" in mind. Released it into some bushes nearby.
