Went out to practice shooting birds in anticipation of Eagle Season and these guys happened to be around and cooperated.
Not as fast as an Eagle, but fun to see and so many as well.

Ken, there are many on Sauvie Island just outside of Portland. We live very close to Ridgefield Wildlife refuge, that is our use to be, little town, but it has grown so much in the last 18 months that all the corn fields and the likes are now, subdivision..so Sauvie island is the place to go in my area these days.

Nice ones and here I'm going all the way to Bosque to get a few shots.
these you cannot get that close to when on the ground and they are flying in and out all the time. plus I think you get better light in NM that we get here in WA state this time of year, but its still fun and love the birds.
