Wachodahatchee Wetlands with SteveS

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Backdoctor, Apr 15, 2007.

  1. drove down to the Wachodahatchee Wetlands with SteveS. Great place, boardwalk all thru it, babies in nests..

    saw a little greenie fishing:
    NIKON D2H    ---    500mm    f/6.7    1/500s    ISO 320

    then in the middle of this clump of some type of greenerie was a Least Bittern nest with babies. I had to manually focus into the nest for some, then the baby decided to come out and say hello. Some guy there with a camera doubted I would get a shot of the chick in the nest. Thats why god invented MANUAL FOCUS:Angel: :

    I believe this is a sora rail:

    lots of nests with babies in various ages..

    NIKON D2H    ---    420mm    f/6.3    1/640s    ISO 320

    feeding time;

    NIKON D2H    ---    420mm    f/6.3    1/1000s    ISO 320

    NIKON D2H    ---    420mm    f/6.3    1/1250s    ISO 320

    plenty of stilts, even a nest with eggs ( I'll post that another time)

    NIKON D2H    ---    420mm    f/6.3    1/1250s    ISO 250

    NIKON D2H    ---    420mm    f/6.3    1/250s    ISO 250
