Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by Kevin_d50, Apr 28, 2007.

  1. Had a walkabout today. Used the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG EX Macro for all of these.

    Comment and critiques welcomed.

    Love the VW bug...lolol

  3. aaah, glad you caught the "bug" amongst the other bugs there :)
    thanks gale!

  4. Funny, I loved the VW bug too. All the shots are great though. I have one of those Sigma 105s too, and I've really been enjoying it.

  5. LOL, wrong bug making an impression in the macro forum :D

you expat from South Africa Michael?

  6. No, but I'm xVW Bug. ;-)

Please tell me, were the flower shots handheld, or with a tripod or monopod? I have the same lens and have a lot of trouble getting the part of the photo sharp that I want sharp.

Although sometimes I get it right... check the "Black Flower" thread.

  7. lol, ex vw, aint we all :D

    Superb shots!

I'm still struggling to get shots this sharp with my Sigma 105. How'd ya do it?

  9. hi mart, thanks!
just you normal usm being applied in pp - using a tripod helps for the blur too.
    hope that helps. rgds

  10. Hiya Kev - when did you get the 105?!

I love mine (as you know) - It is also a cracking Portrait lens.

Did you manual focus on the bug shots? Are these on a tripod?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  11. hello there paul!
round about december or so :D
believe it or not, AUTO FOCUS!!!! - lol, light was good, lens was responsive, I was happy :)  Not camera mounted on tripod, but elbows leaning on it. That helps too.
    cheers paul
