Currently I own a 24-85 f3.5-4.5 as my walkaround lens but sometimes I feel it falls a little short when i'm out...

I was thinking about a replacement and the only choices I can think about are the

24-120 VR and the 18-200 VR, using the VR will bring the f value a little lower and useful.

What's is you guys take on this ?

    I also plan to add:

    Tokina 12-24 f4
    Sigma 50-500mm

    Currently have

    24-85 f3.5-4.5
    50mm f1.8
    80-200 f2.8

VR does not affect the f-value. It just lowers the effective minimum shutter speed for sharp images.

Certainly, the 18-200 mm would be a fine walkabout lens, but it also completely overlaps your 80-200. If that's not an issue for you, I'd say that was your best option.
