These are 4 images out of a long sequence which started with the two birds talking to each other from 2 adjacent rocks in the pond. These were shot on a pond just west of Othello, WA. D200, 400mm f2.8 plus TC-17E.

It sure looked like he just overbalanced and fell off, but who knows .......

Great series, Bill... I've heard of being "off kilter" but not "off kildeer" :biggrin: The antics of animals and birds in spring are certainly humorous!

Thanks. Behaviors are really fun to watch and understand. Funny how we ascribe "human" attributes to the actions of birds and animals.

Sure you have to one up me. I post one up close Killdeer and now you post two up close. Not fair at all. Nice shots Bill.
