Wifey & I took a little ride up to Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge Saturday morning. It's been over a month since we last visited so I have no idea what might still be there. We were rewarded for making the trip by virtue a high bird count. There a was a lot more that we either didn't get to photograph. or just didn't get a decent shot.

One thing we've never seen at this spot "was" Mississippi Kites. Not true anymore. :)

Here's a few of the little fellas that entertained us that morning.

How could I miss a couple Painted Buntings that Theresa saw..???... I did not see them, but she got both a male & female. Not sure how that could happen when we're both shooting from the same car (with her in th back seat, behind me). Lol!

Great variety.
It was a pleasant surprise.

WOW...i would of gone home happy just with your first 4 shots, what an excellent and varied collection, nice work Phil
Thanks Brian. We were beyond happy. :)
We actually saw a lot more, but really couldn't get a good shot. Others missed or not worth sharing included: Greater Roadrunner, Black-Chinned Hummer, Green Heron Juvi's, Cattle Egret, Blue Heron, and more.
