What a machine!

  1. I am right there with Mark on the excitement meter when it comes to my new D700.
    While the following photos are nothing special (just walkabouts with me having this silly grin on my face) I just need to share.

    Coming from my much beloved D200 I can only say this: handling the D700 and seeing its potential feels exactly like when I jumped from a p&s to a D70 years ago.

    The possibilities seem endless.

    It's only a subway station, I know. But this is 10 minutes after sunset, handheld. 85mm 1.4 f2.8 1/80 ISO 1000.

    I think the only limitation on this jet....is the pilot.

  4. Francis Joseph and Paul;

    Thanks for taking the time to comment. Very much appreciated.

    Here are 2 more from this morning; again the camera shocks me.

    Fog? What am I doing shooting in fog?

    These are gorgeous. Especially love #2 and #3 from the first set.

  12. Very good! (I actually said 'h*ly cr*p' to myself!) - The picture of the bike made my eyes bleed. Also Love number 3.

    I'm trying to convince myself I don't need a D700... It seem to be a digital version of the F100 which I love - Mmmm...

  13. Confused!

    Don't kid yourself, you are a good photographer, nothing to do with a d700. I'm sure you've done equally fine work with the D200. But now you can do it at ISO 6400 :D

    congrats on the D700 btw, I'm looking VERY seriously into getting one. :)

    Love no. 3 and the 2nd foggy. And no, I don't have a bench fetish.
