What does a raw IR image look like?

Discussion in 'Night, InfraRed, and UltraViolet Photography' started by LSUDVM, Aug 9, 2009.

  1. Does anyone have an example of a unprocessed IR image? I ask b/c in these IR images that i see greens are white for example or some look like B&W images. Is this the way IR images look out of a IR DSLR for instance? Also if i had IR vision (the non thermal kind) would i see green plants as white?

  2. Howdy Ashok,

Here's an image from a modded D70S with the 720nM filter installed.

Sony Camera's with the Nightshot mode show things like your talking about, with the green tint to everything , and the foliage does show white.
