I am going to shoot a Golden Gloves even for a friend...gonna do it with film. What film do you recommend. I was there Saturday for a fight and it is a pretty well lit arena. Also they do not allow flash.

    Thanks

Hmmm....maybe know one knew what Golden Gloves is....

    Boxing.

  3. I think tri-x pushed to 1600 or 3200 which ever you need. Cheaper than buying Delta 3200 and quality will be good.

  4. 400 is plenty for those venues, usually...
If you want color, any cheap Fuji 400 does a great job.

  5. I really doubt it. I've shot in arenas and 1600 is usually pushing the limits for sports. But anyway, that's why trix is a good choice to take. It's incredibly flexible.

Yeah, you will want to keep the shutter speed quite high, so you can get those 'punched-in-the-face-with-drops-of-spit-flying-out' kind of shots.

  7. The OP stated the venue is well lit. In such conditions, I've experienced f2 to F2.8 @ 1/250 with ISO 400 film by ringside.

Go for tri-x. If the lighting is worse than excepted, you can push it to 1600 in diafine if you need to.
