What lens for a dog wash?

  1. I'm going to a dog wash tomorrow - you pay $5 and the staff washes your dog - it's to benefit the local shelter. A little weird :) but I figure I can get some good doggy shaking pictures. :)

Any suggestions as to which type of lens would be best for this type of event out of my: 70-300mm VR, 18-55mm, 50mm f/1.8

    Thanks! :)

  2. 70-300mm should work fine :)

  3. Whatever you use, put a filter on the front to protect it from the doggy spray. Good luck and let's see some photos.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions and yes, I will definitely be using a filter! :)

I'd actually say the 50, simply because it's the fastest you have. Stopping all of that shaky hair will be gorgeous : D

The 70-300 would work fine too though.

  6. You'll want to keep out of the way of the washers and to keep your gear out of the range of the shakers. So you'll need some reach. If it's an outdoor event, the 70-300VR will be a good choice. If it's indoors, the 50/1.8.
