I have a D300, 17-55mm and SB-800 that I am using for beach portraits tonight on a few couples that are with us on vacation in Duck, NC. Walking to beach around 7pm to get them each setup on the dunes and ready to go.

Two nights ago, I set up my camera for a friend to take pics of my family and I and had it set to f5.6 and the SB-800 set to TTL. They came out almost looking like a faint spotlight was on one of use during each picture (I had the flash pointed up with the small plastic card extended to bounce a little of the flash onto us).

What are the best settings to use for a shoot like this? Thanks!

Bad sign. :frown: That is an advanced symptom of NAS! Best known antidote (there is n o cure) is to buy something--even it is a filter or lens cap . . .
