What to do?

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by Hoddo, Mar 25, 2007.

  1. OK so today collected a number of Nikon items one of which was the 50mm f1.4

Sods law it was the only lens I didn't look at in the shop - time was against me - and upon opening the box it's a new manual focus lense and not an AF lense. However, boy does this thing feel well built but the question/s is/are...

    1. Is the mf lense better than the af lense? Build quality and picture quality

    2. If I do keep the mf lense will all the metering functions on a D200 work?

    Thanks

The Nikon AiS 50/1.4 is the same optically as the AF version so picture quality is the same. If you enter the focal length and aperture into your D200 you'll get full metering in manual and aperture priority modes (P and S modes are not available).
