If you go to an AA meeting and ask just what drove these nice fokes to demon rum many will say I`m sure that it was the stress involved with trying to ID gulls and terns. You have difrent plumage for a first year, second year, third year bird. Summer/winter as well as breeding and non breeding. Add the color shift caused by moon phase as well as political afliction and you get, "Yes Bartender, Make mine a double!". So at this point I am going with a non breading adult gull-billed tern. I base this wild leap of faith on page 122 of [The Crossley ID Guide, Eastern Birds]. The bird in the fore groung at the bottom of the page looks to my old eyes to fit the bird in your photo. Now if one of the better egumacated birdey types would chim in we can all go to bed.

I think fisbio has it right. That bill fits the LAGU just right. Bartender, I`ll have another.
