Where did the UPS settings go?

  1. I could have sworn there was a way to set preferences for managing a battery backup UPS from the Energy Saver System Preferences.

Am I crazy or did Apple take the feature out in a late 10.4 OS update?

I use APC UPS's and the software came with the UPS. I had to install it from the disk. Maybe your disk is floating around somewhere. I'm not aware that it was ever a part of the OS.

  3. It is part of the OS if you have the UPS connected by USB it will show in energy saver preferences pane. You do not have to load the UPS software to manage it

  4. here it is

  5. I'll be. I never knew that.

Where are my extra USB cables anyway?

  6. Yea, that's where it was on mine until I upgraded to 10.4.9

    What system are you running?

  7. I am running 10.4.10

Me neither. This Mac OS just seems to get better and better. Thanks dmw

  9. Is your UPS connected via a USB cable?

Help me out here. I'm using a Belkin UPS and their software stinks.

EDIT... I'm running out the door right now but I just checked the System Prefs Help and it alludes to connecting with a UPS. I'll try that later and see if that helps.
