    I’ve decided I am going to buy: Nikon D80, Tokina 12-24mm f/4 & Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 without BIM (Built-in motor for D40, D40x & D60).

I’ve read few threads on this forum, where people were telling how they were getting lovely lenses at bargain prices.

I’ve searched through Live cash back site too; I compared prices at B&H, Adorama and Beach Camera. I found the best deal (the cost of shipping, rebates from Live & Tamron) is offered by Adorama. The total cost is $1541.50. I could not find any discounts from eBay auction on Live cash back site at all.

Being on a tight budget I would like to ask if anyone knows other reputable traders which will offer a better deal on these three items.

    Thanks!

I doubt it. You may want to try amazon.com, they're a huge site but not focused on cameras. They MOST LIKELY have everything you want to buy, but B&H and Adorama are known for their reputability.

  3. Sounds like you've done your homework. You could try KEH.com and buy used to keep the price down.

I think you can do a little better at Buydig/Beach Camera through Live Search.

    D80 with 2gb SD card at $719, 28-75 at $369, and 12-24 at $469.
Free shipping on the D80 and 12-24; $6.95 on the 28-75.
$10 rebate on the 28-75 and then 2% rebate via Live Search.
    Eventual net cost of $1522.
Maybe you can get Buydig to toss in free shipping on the 28-75; that would lower your cost to $1515.

I think a couple of our members are trying to sell their D80's.

You need to check Live again. There are vendors showing the D80 body only for $650, 12-24 for $430, and 28-75 for $340 before 25% cash back. That's $1420 and there would be some shipping but $1420 with 25% cash back is $355 rebate from around $1500 shipped for a net cost of $1150, much lower than Adorama. Now, you do have to pay the full price up front and wait 60 days I think it is for the 25% but it's still the least expensive way to go. Good luck.

I can't see any cash backs at 25%. Who are those vendors? Could you paste direct URL link to that advertisement please?

You go to www.live.com and in the search box put nikon. That should take you to a page of links with the first one being ebay and showing a discount ranging up to 25%. I've personally had it come up as low as 10% and up to 25% with 15%, 17% and 20% also showing up. You have to have an MSN live login to get it. If not, register with them. I don't think it would work with a link from my login. Also, once you do get to it, you have 1 hour until it times out and the discount disappears and you have to start over.
