    Hi,
I have a D80 and a SB600. I want to use SB600 in iTLL-BL mode apart from the camera (not on the camera). I couldn’t find out which Nikon cord enables SB600 to be used in ITTL-BL mode. Can SC-17 be used for this purpose or do I need a more sophisticated cord?

    Thanks for your help.

just saw this. so sorry for the slow reply. the BL is for Balanced. instead of being the main light source the BL mode will try to match the flash to subject fill with the ambeint light and give you a more unflashed looking photo.

Thanks this post helped me out! B&H shows this has been replaced with an improved cord SC-28
