Whitby Abbey

  1. Took this photo of Whitby Abbey in the summer, it was founded in 657 AD ! Amazingly well preserved considering it's age.

    I love places like that.Great image and color.

    It looks similiar to Six Sisters abbey near Dumfries, Scotland.

    You picked a beautiful day to be there!

    I was in Whitby back in 1987. I found the place very interesting. I loved the smell of the sea and the charm of the old city.

    I have some unscanned prints of the Abbey and the harbour with the boats on their keels at low tide.
    Great memories Thanks for reminding me!
