I continue to explore "environmental" portraits.
Really windy today on the boat. The wind also kept the birds huddled down in their nests.
This one egret slowly walked out of the shadows and just sat here in the light.
One of my favorites from the morning.
You only need to get one and it is a good day.

That area where you're shooting has some of the thickest moss I've ever seen.
This is really old growth, and as you noted is thick, in small areas. Most of my compositions are controlled by the moss. Just outside this crop are large gaps of blue sky which really ruin the image.
I found this whole area by accident last year later in the season, so this is my first time watching the nesting and early spring activity.
It is a really nice way to spend a morning.

Thanks again all!!

I think you are well on your way to achieving your environmental theme! Image compositions and processing are getting more consistent and more powerful!
