White Pelicans and a Sandhill Crane

These were shot at Lake Nelson near Batavia, IL (Kane County). All were taken with a D2H, 300mm f/2.8 AF-S VR and TC-14E II.....handheld.

My thanks to the two of you, I had a ball this morning. Now....I just want to warm up, the temps were around 30 degrees with 20 mph winds. Brrrrr!!!

Thanks Andy, from my vantagepoint, it looked like a good shot. I opted to handhold my gear today to find that pivoting was much more fluid. I was also pleased to have maintained whites without blowing them too badly.

I switched to center-weighted metering and adjusted the eV....I think!
