White Pelicans and more from Othello.

Discussion in 'Birds' started by james thiel, Oct 5, 2008.

  1. It has been a while since I went east of the mountains to Othello. I am just catching up with some PP now. Here are a few. I had never seen white pelicans before this trip nor had I ever seen the Yellow Headed Blackbirds.

First is a grouse I saw while hiking at Mt Rainier.

Now for the yellow headed blackbirds. Boy can they ever make some loud noises. My head hurt when I was done shooting. These were shot in the evening light.

and then a few white pelicans I had the joy of watching. They are fun to watch eat.

Great pics, I really like the Grouse.
  4. Wow Jim, these are terrific. Othello has been so long ago I almost forgot about it. Very nice shots, super details in those Yellowheaded Blackbird shots. The Grouse shot is over the top good, should definitely print that one.

  6. Thanks much. It is always nice to have great light and subjects.
Thanks, the grouse was fun to watch but hard to shoot as it was so small in the Lupin.
Thanks Louie. I have finally been catching up on some PP. Hope to do Othello again next year.
Thanks, the light on those birds was just perfect.
