why does Lightroom/PScs2 strip out metadata from JPGs?

Yes I do convert to sRGB and then use Save As.
  2. what data is missing?
If I review some of my JPG's, most of my data is there.

I know it does if you use the 'Save for Web' option rather than 'Save As'. The standard 'Save' or 'Save As' should not strip the meta data but it seems like you might know this.

I had this another time also when I was using Fuji RAW files but this is just because Fuji is rubbish =). Damn interpolating scoundrels that they are!! =)

P.S. does strip some of the data. I can retrieve all the metadata by saving a jpg straight from the camera or from NC.
