In this thread Frank posted some pictures taken with his DXh using his SB800.

We all agreed that the flash shots aren't the way to go, but I don't remember my shots 2 years ago with a sunpak flash and a Kodak dx6490 of hockey looking nearly as bad.
These are a couple of those shots.

Nor do the shots the pros take with the large strobes mounted in the ceilings look that way.
What is it about the SB800 and our Nikon DSLR's that make them look that way?
Other shots with the SB800 don't look fake.
