Wildflower Sunset

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by Desert Rat, May 10, 2007.

  1. Since 2007 is pretty much a total bust for wildflowers down here in SOCAL.. Everything is brown or burning up.. Figured I would show a scene from the 2005 bloom in the Carizzo Plains National Mounment.

    ISO 200
    Grad ND Filter
    1/2 sec f/10

    Tidy tips at sunset

Quite beautiful. A Grad ND? Mike
  5. THanks...
Thanks Jonathan.. but 2006 was a total bust for wildflowers as is 2007...
Yep a Grad ND filter... Says in the techs.. Thanks..
  6. This is very nice. I'm amazed you got the flowers to sit still for 1/2 sec!
  7. I really like this photo. Have you tried maybe lightening up the foreground a little? Regardless, stunning colour and detail in an excellent photo.
  8. Love this shot - awesome!
  9. Thanks.. Yep there was absolutely zero wind that day at sunset.. Actually no wind most of the day up there
  10. Very nice indeed! I was wondering if the scene could have been lightened up as well (without losing anything else)?

  11. Thanks Jim....Well, I see what you mean but have not tried it...
    Thanks Vern...
Thanks, but I don't think I would want to lighten up the foreground much more...

Good mood on this shot, and with it being so late in the evening, the foreground seems about right to my eye, (just an opinion though  ) if the sun was up more then I would consider some work on the foreground, but I like this the way it is.

  13. Stunning, feel free to show 2005 any time!
  14. Thanks....
  15. Hey Wade.. Thanks....
