During the week of April 20-27 my wife and I and a couple of friends explored, with an expert guide, the wildflowers of the Gargano peninsula of Italy. It is a beautifully scenic area so I will attempt to give a taste of what the area is like in addition to showing some of the wildflowers. The flowers are mostly rather esoteric small orchids so I will not attempt to give names for all of them.

1. The Gargano is a mountainous peninsula which was at one time an island in the Adriatic

I have waited a long time to see these and they certainly didn't disappoint. I was afraid that maybe you got ill before you were able to see the wildflowers. Looks like an amazing place and your photos are wonderful!! I couldn't pick a favorite. All add to the story. I know you are thinking about a new camera, and it would be fun to have you join in the discussion with those of us who have the Z cameras, but you couldn't get any better photos than these are with a different camera!!

Thanks, Terri. I was very fortunate to get this portion of the trip in before misfortune befell me.:)
