I am considering getting a Benro tripod and was alooking at one of their flexpod offerrings in CF. Weught limit is 12kg. Is that enought for lenses like a 300mm 2.8 afs which i will eventually get or a 500/4 afs which i will be renting in april?

I have a 200-series Benro CF tripod rated to 12kg, and it takes a gripped D700 and 300/2.8 (on a ballhead, not gimbal) just fine. I can't speak to a 500/4. I think it will also depend a good deal on what you're doing, and what sort of shots you're taking. If you're going to be moving it around all day on a gimbal head, you'll probably want something as beefy as you can bear, esp. for the 500.

I have the Benro C298M8 flexpod. I do not remember the load rating but I will say it is a very sturdy tripod. I would use it with one of the heavier bodies and lenses
