Window of Opportunity

This is the very first time I have EVER tried to photograph soras. Cool, dreary, rainy day with little light. I found a few of these close to the road. But, man do they hide well. I was able to find a little window through the weeds at the water's edge and waiting until this one wandered through. I find them fascinating and will keep working on getting improved shots.

Nice image! I love overcast and dull days for great lighting (no harsh Sunlight).
Thanks. I like cloudy, filtered sunlight. This was very dark and gray. The rain, heavy at times, didn't help any.
Good for you on a nice shot. These guys are hard to find and even harder to get a shot of.
Thanks, Louie. I had never even looked for them before. I had read people were seeing them here so I kept my eyes peeled.

Thanks William. Now that I know what I'm looking for (smaller than I thought) I will watch for better opportunities in the future.
