Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, sold for $1.2 Billion. My dad always had their Cab well stocked and it is what got me interested in finer wines. I don't drink it anymore but do enjoy Col Solare, a partnership with Marchesi Antinori. I wonder how this impacts Stags Leap? I also just joined North Star Winery that Ste. Michelle has hooks into. I will drink North Star's ef**ng Merlot.

I just now got off a Zoom session with dear friends in South Africa and I watched the wife drink the last sip of wine in their home except for their last two bottles they've reserved for a special occasion not yet determined. They can't get more wine at least for awhile because South Africa's COVID lock down precludes the pickup or delivery of alcoholic beverages. I offered to send them a couple cases but they said delivery wouldn't be allowed.

Frappato?

In the definitive “Native Wine Grapes of Italy,” Ian D’Agata calls Frappato “the variety responsible for some of Sicily’s most delicious unknown wines.”

I have no experience with it. Have any of you?

Last Sunday, seven people, seven hours, seven courses, 12 wines. All fabulous.

My son and his significant other were on the road the next morning by 10, and he had an all-day drive to his next stop in central Idaho. Oh, to be young again.

Spaced over 7 hours with lots of food made it almost humane! My wife and I have been slow the past 2 days.
