Wireless carplay question

I bought this one from Amazon. It hooked up and paired with my iPhone easily. It takes 20 seconds after I turn my car on for Carplay to show up on my dashboard. If I have another source - such as an fm station playing it takes about anther 3 seconds to switch to a carplay sound app. No drops in 3 days.

But nobody is actually answering Allan's question regarding the functionality of these aftermarket wireless Carplay dongles.

I am also curious. My son warned that the amount of data transferred vial Carplay will likely not be handled well by this device despite the $150 price tag. I countered with the fact that some high end cars are already offering wireless Carplay.
Mitch - My new ride only has wired Carplay, and I'd enjoyed the H/K system's sound system, but I'd noticed that I was using lots of data when I'd had it plugged in. Then, I discovered Apple's ability to turn off "Background App Refresh" on my iPhone. Now - unless I want to take advantage of having all of my apps displayed on the big screen, I'm all good.
