Fun article! The guy might have the world's largest private camera collection but I wonder if it's the largest of all collections. As an example, I wouldn't be surprised if the George Eastman Museum's collection is larger. Their website mentions "more than 16,000 artifacts from the earliest days of photography to today’s integrated, handheld digital devices, the collection contains all of the equipment necessary for photographic image making, as well as printed documentation related to the business, manufacturing, and marketing of the photographic and motion picture industries." Notice that it doesn't break that down to the number of still cameras in its collection.
