Yellow Iris Timelapse

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by Beezle, May 5, 2007.

  1. My latest timelapse attempt using 3 yellow irises. This is actually only about 2/3 of what it will be because it is still running as the second round of flowers emerges.

QuickTime movie here is about 5 MB, runs for about 1 minute. 24 FPS, each frame represents about 96 minutes of real time.

    That is absolutely amazing
    I really like the yellow.
    Great exposure
  3. Thank you Gale. Yellow is always a bit of work to photograph for me, but they sure are nice to look at.

Here is what's next in the pipe. I really hope they don't open tonight! The D2X is still busy. Might put them in the frige.

I also noticed the 4th one on the last time-lapse came up next to the one on the left, wonder if that would have opened to, for the time lapse.
    So cool to watch these.

Yellow...yes, that is why i mentioned the exposure. Red yellow and white are not the easiest exposures to get spot on. You have mastered it for sure.

    nice shot
  11. Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

At this point the extra on the left (4th) is full open and the older flower is going brown. The bud at the top (5th) is coming but not out yet. The camera is still going. I'm hoping to end up with all 6.

  15. Ed, whenever I see the word 'time lapse' in one of your posts, I just know it's going to be a feast for the eyes!

Simply stunning - you handled the yellows perfectly. The graceful dance of the flower petals is gorgeous.
