YellowHeaded Black Birds

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Louis Champan, May 21, 2007.

  1. A few more from my trip to Eastern Washington a week ago. This particular Blackbird has quite a unique call to it, very different than the RWBB. And when you find both species on the same lake or pond, there is quite a rivalery between them.

  6. Picture card perfect Lou
  7. Great captures Louie. Beautiful colors.
  8. Louie,

I love the shot where he is low near the water. The blue background and his black and yellow make a gorgeous contrast. I also like your last shot. The light grey-green foliage gives him a perfect backdrop.

These are all wonderful shots... and educational for me. I've never seen a yellow headed blackbird before. Excellent work.

    God bless.
  9. We actually saw one at the Port Susan Reserve Saturday. . . .they are much larger then one would expect. . . .beautiful bird.

  13. Thanks Jim. The Yellow Headed Blk Bird is quite a bird alright, lots brighter than a regular RWBB.
