Youth Baseball Series I

  1. Yesterday was the only sunny day for the past few and from the looks of this noreater rippign through the next week also. We shot openign day of a Clubs babseball season where the teams from the same club faced each other this involved all age groups. I find it very challenging to shoot with sun due to shadows and changing exposure as the play moves across the field, I woudl rather shoot cloudy days anytime.
Here are some shots mostly with the D2X and 300 2.8 unless noted then thye are with the D200 and the 70-200 with 1.4 tele

Some of those faces are so funny I wonder how you could push the shutter from laughing.

Fantastic shots as usual, all of them. I have already said before and I will say it again, your shots are a treat to the eyes ..... color, composition, sharpness and timing are always spot-on. If I may ask you a question .... what is your typical keeper rate Mike? I also noticed that the contrast on the 300 2.8 is much better than the 70-200, just an observation.

Outstanding shots...as usual! I agree with the others, #7 is priceless!

I know if there were a photographer making shots like that when my kids were playing little league...I would have bought plenty!

Absolutely rock solid shooting. Who doesn't love seeing tight, tack sharp images of kids like this. Simply great!
