Z with the 24-70 f4 vs 24-120 f4 ?

Any body with one of the Nikon Z's tested the kit 24-70 f4 S vs the 24-120 f4 G. Trying to decide whether to get the kit lens with a Z7 or would I be happy with the 24-120 which I use quite a bit when traveling. Is the new S lens that much sharper than the older G? Is focus quicker and more accurate? I've been using the 24-120 with the older D800 as a reference point.

I have both lenses and a Z6, but I haven't actually compared them. The Z 24-70/4s is such a stellar lens I can't imagine the 24-120/4 being even close.

I think the 24-70 with the Z7 is a no-brainer. Better to get it with the kit so you save a lot of $$ as you will want it later.

I tried the 24-120 f4 VR + FTZ adapter on a Z6, I wouldn't bother. It's way too bulky and the 24-70 f4 S is much sharper, smaller and has silent focus for things like video. Though I might consider the 24-85mm VR if you still want to stay with a compact F-mount zoom and stay cross mount compatible.

I have just got the Z6 with FTZ and 24-70 kit. Having done some very basic test shots I would strongly recommend it. Also I saved a lot getting it as part of the kit. I have not tried my 24-120 yet but look forward to doing so soon.
