I've had the Z7 for a couple of weeks now, although I haven't used it very much. While I have tried the Z7 with the adaptor and a macro lens, I wanted to checkout the 24-70 f/4.0 kit lens for happy snaps. I also have the 14-30 f/4.0 lens as well but haven't played with that one as yet.

I went for a wander around Melbourne, Australia, over the weekend and enjoyed using the Z7 with 24-70. Its light weight, and found its quite compact, so I didn't feel as though I was wandering around with a big DSLR.

Street photography is not my thing, but I did visit the Fire Services Museum Victoria. It was a good test for low shutter speed, and some high ISO. One thing I was surprised with was how much distortion there is in the lens. Using other mid range zooms from Nikon, Fuji, and Olympus, distortion is/was never an issue, but is definitely something to be mindful of when using this lens for architecture etc. I do enjoy using this lens for close-up photography, particularly for flowers.

Anyway, here are some of the snaps from the weekend.

#1 As we're in Spring, I took a few more snaps of our Weeping Cherry tree as I was leaving.

#2 Plenty of colour around Melbourne at the moment

#3 This took some tweaking to minimise the distortion.
