I like it! Very clear eyes and great bokeh. He sort of has the "I just woke up and have bed head look and why are you pointing the camera at me?!" look going.

Even when you fix his hair, he runs his hands through it till it looks nice and messy!

  4. Shane....
    great thread
    nice picture
love the eyes.... you did well, sir
the sharpening you did made this image so much better
    your picture is wonderful
handsome model, of course.... always helps
but.... digital SLRs don't "see" the world the way our eyes do (or those with 20/20 vision, anyway)
it takes some "touch" at the computer to approximate what is really "seen."

if you want to go even "crazier" on the sharpening...

i used shadows and highlight at 40% for the whole image
then i used the lasso tool for each eye, individually.... using shadows and highlights at 50% and USM at 80/0.8/2

then.... i did a USM at 80/0.8/2 for the whole image

  6. shane...
i want you to know that YOU are doing a great job
and some folks will think that MY sharpening on THIS image was OVER THE TOP

i didn't do that to make you feel you'd done an INadequate job... because, you hadn't

    the shot is great
please remember i only try to teach what i've learned RIGHT HERE

that's really such an incredible thing about THE CAFE
    you see
    you learn
    you do
    you teach someone else

    soon....
you'll be showing other folks what can be done

    keep shooting.... post-processing.... and posting
i can't wait to see more

Oh! No worries! That's exactly why I look so often for feedback on what I am doing. There are quite a few very talented people on this forum. It's why I am here every day!
