Zoo photography is look down upon by many wildlife shooters. However, one has to wonder what these captured animals who are acclimatized to us homo sapiens are thinking when they see us. Perhaps food, perhaps disgust, perhaps interest, perhaps they are laughing at us. Perhaps they are laughing at me :)

a very cool series.....my only nit is that you did not number the shots and that makes it had to comment on a particular shot..........Like them all by the way.......oughtta try to get some published by Natures best Magazine...............

  6. Fabulous love the snow leopard. you know how I feel about zoo photography. Seems you take the same approach as I am try to make them look as natural as possible. Again a fantastic job my friend

  7. Beautiful hob! I like the theme of all looking at you. Well done Robert!

You should always number the shots when posting more than three for easier reference.

  8. Very nice set of images. I like the eye contact in so many of these photographs.

I love shooting at the zoo. I certainly can't be going on African safaris all the time. So, the zoo offers me an opportunity to practice photography in a nearby location. Our zoo, the Brookfield Zoo, welcome photographers--which makes it a very pleasant place to go for shooting.

Hi Shtarka1, bobarue, Leonkoum, ArtScott, MikeMac, Alexf, Gnagel, HamiltonB, Hotrod4x5, and Lr0868,

Thank you ladies and gentleman for the kind compliment. All of these images were taken over multiple visits to the Bronx Zoo with my D100 and D200 and a nikkor 70-200 & TC1.4 when necessary.

Just wanted to share some of my animal photos since I am so type casted as panorama guy :)

Hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of summer !

  13. RFC well, you made me feel a little better. You have awesome images, and I thought you captured them all on one visit! I have gotten a few good ones on one visit, but nothing near the quantity of your series.

These are all fantastic... I think you summed it up as their eyes seem to say all those things.

  17. Wow ! I did not realize until now, that 'eye contact' can be such a powerful element in a photograph !! Great job, RFC. Hey, I still love your Panos, but you do show here that are equally good in other areas of photography as well

These are beautiful shots ! "They all asked for you....they all asked for you" A reference to the song sung by Louis Armstrong about the animals in the world.
